About our choir...

The Service Children’s Community Choir is a warm, inclusive space where children from Armed Forces families can sing, grow, and feel part of a community that truly understands them. Led by specialist music educators and supported by trained volunteers with lived experience of service life, our choir offers stability, friendship, and high‑quality musical learning throughout the year. Whether families are navigating deployment, settling into a new posting, or simply looking for a place where their child can thrive, we provide a consistent, joyful environment where every voice is valued and every child belongs.

Our Story

The Service Children’s Community Choir began with a simple idea: to create a space where Armed Forces children could feel grounded, connected, and celebrated through music. What started as a small group of families seeking community has grown into a thriving choir that supports children through postings, deployments, and the everyday realities of service life. Our story is rooted in belonging — a place where children can make friends that travel with them, build confidence that lasts, and discover the joy of singing together.

Our Team

Our team brings together specialist music educators, experienced volunteers, and people with lived experience of military life. Each member is committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can grow musically and emotionally. From expert vocal coaching to gentle pastoral support, our team works collaboratively to ensure every child feels valued, supported, and ready to shine — both on stage and beyond.

Our Values

We centre everything we do around four core values that guide how we teach, support, and celebrate service children. These values shape every rehearsal, every performance, and every moment of connection — helping each child feel grounded, inspired, and able to grow with confidence, wherever military life takes them.
